My life reflects a kaleidoscope of visual fragments and sensory evaluations. I am virtually everywhere, changing constantly. Yet I express wonder when I contemplate the miracle of human consciousness as I hurl myself against the passage of time. The concepts of microcosm/macrocosm, reality/illusion seep into my work and play with the intention of illuminating matter into the poetry of visual dimension.

Implied motion has become the signature trademark in my recent work. There’s always the edge of balance/fragility. The moment, though ever fleeting, re- emerges as a memory that replays as a movie. Seeing it expand and contract, navigating through space, my work speaks metaphorically as poetry. I conceive the vision of that moment becoming a “still”, collapsing time into a particular instant, frozen as a sculptural image, an icon to memory.

My thoughts run the spectrum from the absurdity of the accident of birth and the happenstance of circumstance to the capacity for human learning and reflection.

I engage in transforming the ordinary into the unexpected, contradicting my initial inclination for order by considering a novel point of view or scale to refresh perception as a breakthrough to a new reality, bringing myself clarity with each new vision.
